Hospital Medicine

The Hospital Medicine program at Wesley Medical Center (WMC) was established in 2002. Wesley Healthcare is comprised of two hospitals (Wesley Medical Center and Wesley-Woodlawn Hospital) and two free standing emergency departments. Wesley Healthcare is in an urban setting in Wichita, Kansas and provides healthcare to thousands of families in Wichita and throughout Kansas and Northern Oklahoma. WMC treats more than 24,000 patients annually. WMC is an acute care hospital with 750 licensed beds of which our hospitalists staff 140 beds. Wesley-Woodlawn is an 82-bed facility of which our hospitalists staff 25 beds. Specialist coverage is provided by cardiology, infectious disease, neurology, urology, and vascular surgery just to name a few and is also a Level 1 trauma center.

Wichita is the largest city in the state of Kansas and the 50th-largest city in the United States. It is located in south-central Kansas on the Arkansas River. As an industrial hub and the largest city in the state, Wichita is an area center of culture, media, and trade. It hosts several large museums, theaters, parks, and entertainment venues.
