Position Summary: The Medical Assistant II will support the Blue Sky Neurology division. The position is responsible for scheduling appointments, pre-appointment testing, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and any necessary records prior to the patient appointment. The MA II facilitates an efficient clinic of 2 full-time providers over 75% of the year. This position requires critical thinking, the ability to work with all members of the practice, and provide support, education, and feedback when necessary.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. MA Degree/Certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
- Knowledge of basic clinic function and flow.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Job Responsibilities:
- Takes medical histories and records vital signs, prepares patients for examination.
- Arranges exam room instruments and equipment.
- Keeps waiting and exam rooms neat and clean.
- Coordinates patient appointments, orders, and records.
- Scans patient information and enters patient data into computer.
- Sends letters to PCP, as needed i.e.: no-shows, record requests etc.
- Triages calls regarding medications, lab and, rad results.
- Answers front desk incoming calls when needed.
- Pages physicians concerning hospital consults and files information in database as needed.
- Attaches relevant lab/radiology results in ECW to specific doctors through fax inbox as needed.
- Makes photocopies as needed.
- Sends faxes as needed.
- Assists physicians as needed.
- Assists with Front Desk Duties as needed.
- Maintains accurate medical supply inventory.
- Submits medical supply and office supply orders while maintaining budget.
- Speaks with patients as needed, escalating any concerns to the Service Line Manager.
- Participates in the delivery of quality care for our patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
