Description:
The tech performs electroneurodiagnostic testing according to established policies and procedures, ensuring testing is safe and effective. Testing is performed on all ages. The Technician works under the supervision of a physician who is responsible for interpretation and clinical correlation of the results and reports. Electroneurodiagnostic studies include EEG, EMG, EP, NCS & Polysomnography.
- Protects the confidentiality of each patient"s information in compliance with HIPAA
- Is responsible for tracking reports from acquisition to interpretation and filing
- Inventory Supplies, verifying stock levels
- Receives supplies and ensures supplies are properly stored
- Must be able to comprehend the computer read outs for EEG/EP/EMG tracings and computers used in the provision of services
Job Requirements:
Certification & Minimum Education
- Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG T) OR be a registry in EEG by ABRET
- Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T)
- Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent formal training.
Experience
- 5 years of Electroneurodiagnostic testing experience preferred
Physical Demands
- Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting
- Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
