CarePoint was established in 1995 and began operations with HealthONE in 1996 as the exclusive provider for Emergency Care and Pediatric Emergency Care. In 2013 CarePoint added Blue Sky Neurology as a division providing acute neurology, outpatient neurology and telemedicine. In 2014, CarePoint initiated professional coverage for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at The Medical Center of Aurora. CarePoint is the largest private medical group practice in Colorado with 450,000 annual patient encounters. CarePoint added Neurosurgery in 2016 and provides coverage at multiple hospitals. CarePoint provides professional coverage at all HealthONE EDs and Free Standing EDs, Pediatric coverage at 5 HealthONE Hospitals (the 6th does not provide dedicated Pediatric ED services), all HealthONE neurology coverage with exception of North Suburban Medical Center. In addition, CarePoint provides all HealthONE tele-neurology as well as providing neurology call coverage at multiple non-HealthONE hospitals.

Description: 

Scribes function to create an efficient patient care environment that enhances both patient and provider satisfaction by providing clerical assistance for the Neurosurgery division. A medical scribe assists the physician or PA with a variety of tasks; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the provider to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care. Duties and Responsibilities:

Be present for patient evaluations to efficiently create and edit the patient medical record based on the patient encounter.

This includes but is not limited to:

Recording patient subjective history and provider objective findings

Documenting procedures performed by the provider(s)

Importing radiology reports, lab results and EKGs

Facilitate communication between providers and other staff

Travel to different clinic locations throughout the Denver Metro area.

Perform other clerical tasks that optimize efficiency

Qualifications:

Must be able to stand on the job for long periods of time

Must be able to type and code all information into the medical records system

Interest in continuing into the medical field as a career preferred

Medical terminology and/or anatomy and physiology course completion or equivalent experience

Healthcare experience preferred, but not required

Enrollment or completion of a college degree is preferred

Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients and employee information

Ability to comprehend multiple verbal instructions given

Demonstrate proficiency in typing and computer use

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Ability to work and participate in a team environment

Availability for a variety of shifts that add up to 32-40 hours a week

Satisfactory results of a comprehensive background/criminal check
