Emergency Medicine - Physician
Position Description
CarePoint is seeking a Full Time Board-certified/Board-eligible Emergency Department Physician to join our team in Moab, Utah. Moab Regional Hospital is a community-owned, nonprofit, Level IV Trauma Center with approximately 5,700 annual ED visits and modern, state-of-the-art facilities. This position is well-suited for a clinician who enjoys practicing high-acuity emergency medicine in a rural setting while being part of a collaborative, mission-driven team - and who appreciates unparalleled access to outdoor recreation.
As a Physician with Our Moab Division, You Will
- Provide clinical services in the Emergency Department of Moab Regional Hospital on a coverage basis with your colleagues.
- Participate in at least 75% of Medical Staff, ED Department, and Trauma Department meetings in-person or remotely and provide a monthly report on program status.
- Contribute to efforts in the department to optimize patient care delivery and experience.
- Collaborate with Division and CarePoint leadership, Hospital administration, nurse managers, and medical staff in the implementation of all policies and procedures for the ED, including operational, safety, infection control, disaster preparedness, risk management, QA, Performance Improvement, UR, etc.
- Support clinical teams in alignment with best practices and evidence-based medicine.
- Understand and actively participate in the quality and appropriateness of emergency medical services in conjunction with the Hospital and engage in continuous QA on a regular basis.
- Contribute to quality improvement, operational efficiency, and provider engagement initiatives.
- Provide additional services as reasonably requested by the Hospital and agreed to by CarePoint.
Scope of Role
- Work at least 120 hours per month (on average) of shift coverage.
- Eligibility for full membership/partnership with CarePoint after two years and >2700 clinical hours.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Utah
- Prefer 2+ years of clinical experience in emergency medicine
- Prefer experience working in a rural or critical access hospital
- Residence in the Moab vicinity required
- Must be available to work full-time; PRN shifts are not available
