Position Description
CarePoint is seeking full-time Neurohospitalists (multiple openings) to join our dynamic, hospital-based practice in Austin, Texas.
Job Duties
The Neurohospitalist provides comprehensive neurological care to hospitalized patients, managing both acute and consultative neurological conditions. This role focuses on inpatient diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for patients with stroke, seizure disorders, neuromuscular diseases, central nervous system infections, and other neurological emergencies. The Neurohospitalist works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, neurosurgeons, and rehabilitation specialists, to optimize patient outcomes and streamline transitions of care. Specific duties include the following: Provide inpatient neurological evaluation and management for patients admitted to the hospital. Respond to and manage acute neurological emergencies, including stroke codes and status epilepticus. Serve as a consulting physician for patients on the neurology and all other services. Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols for stroke and other neurological conditions. Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and case managers to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics related to inpatient neurology.Provide supervision and teaching to residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers as applicable.Participate in hospital committees, peer review, and continuing medical education activities. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Job Requirements
This position requires an MD, DO or equivalent degree. Must also have all of the following: 1) Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency. 2) Completion of Fellowship in Vascular Neurology, Neurocritical Care, or Hospital Neurology. 3) Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology. 4) Have or be immediately eligible for unrestricted medical license in Texas. 5) NIH Stroke Scale certification. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

- Telemedicine services (acute stroke, remote neurohospitalist, EEG)
- Base Salary: $375k in your first year, $400,000 starting second year guaranteed
- Additional Income Potential: Telemedicine, extra shifts, teaching, and administrative roles
- 3-Year Partnership Track: Salary increase with cash balance and deferral options
