Hospital Medicine - Nurse

CarePoint is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support our thriving hospital medicine program in Wichita, KS. Primary location will be Wesley Woodlawn, with some coverage at Wesley Medical Center. Wesley Medical Center is a complex regional referral hospital and an ACS Level I Trauma Center with multiple residency programs and comprehensive specialty services.

Description of Position

The RN Clinical Coordinator provides dedicated support to the Medical Director and Hospitalist Physicians. This role is a non-supervisory and non-managerial clinical position, serving instead as a resource to the CarePoint Hospital Medicine service line at Wesley Medical Center and Wesley Woodlawn Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Interdisciplinary Liaison and Care Coordination: Serve as a critical liaison between physicians, the patient care team, and dispensing pharmacies to facilitate seamless communication and collaborative patient management. Coordinate and schedule patient follow-up appointments.
• Physician Administrative Support: Provide support for essential administrative processes, including assisting with prior authorizations, coordinating discharge prescription processing, and facilitating death certificate completion.
• Documentation Management: Aid physicians in the preparation of official patient documents, such as FMLA, short-term disability, and return-to-work forms. Systematically track, organize, and maintain accurate records of all new patient encounters.
• Clinical Excellence and Professionalism: Apply robust clinical judgment and the nursing process to advance patient health, well-being, and safety in strict accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and care standards. Maintain personal accountability, act as a professional role model, and uphold the highest ethical, legal, and professional nursing standards.
