Corporate - Credentialing Coordinator

Position Description

CarePoint is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credentialing Coordinator to manage the full lifecycle of provider credentialing and re-credentialing for hospital privileges. You will act as the primary liaison between our physicians, medical boards, and insurance payers. Your goal is to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations while getting credentials for our physicians and APPs in a fast-paced work environment.

This position is a remote role, accompanied by an hourly pay ranging from $26-31/hr, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Management: Lead the initial credentialing and primary source verification process for all new physicians and advanced practice providers specifically our Neurosurgery Service Line. Cross training for all other Service Lines and states.
  • Database Integrity: Own and maintain all the internal provider database (Modio and Google files) for all service lines. Ability to handle repetitive data entry with high real-time accuracy.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Track the expiration dates of medical licenses, DEA certifications, board certifications, and malpractice insurance to ensure zero lapses in coverage.
  • Payer Enrollment: Coordinate with R1(Billing company) to ensure providers have started enrollment process with their R1 Enrollment Specialist. This is not a payor credentialing position.
  • Communication: Serve as the point of contact for providers, helping them navigate complex paperwork and providing status updates.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in hospital/provider credentialing or medical staff services.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the credentialing process.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Google Sheets is a must) and experience with credentialing databases.
  • Detail-Oriented: An eagle eye for discrepancies in CVs, peer references, or work history.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with busy physicians.
  • Professionalism when handling sensitive, confidential provider information.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage high volumes of documents for multiple providers simultaneously without missing deadlines.
  • The ability to work remote with a tight knit team of experts in this field.
  • A can-do attitude and self-starter.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
