Job

Corporate - Chief Operating Officer (Hybrid in Denver or Salt Lake City)

Position Description

Founded in 1995, CarePoint is a physician-owned, physician-run multispecialty medical group headquartered in the Denver metro area. What began as an emergency medicine practice has grown over three decades into a multi-state organization spanning emergency medicine, hospitalist medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, wound care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and telehealth services. CarePoint's more than 600 physicians and advanced practice providers serve hospitals, health systems, and communities across Colorado, Kansas, Utah, Idaho, and Montana. The organization operates under a democratic, physician-led governance model and has built its reputation on long-standing hospital partnerships and a collaborative, collegial culture centered on high-quality, patient-focused care.

Position Summary

The Chief Operating Officer will provide operational leadership across CarePoint's multi-state footprint, ensuring consistent execution of clinical and business operations across diverse markets and practice settings. This role will partner closely with the Chief Medical Officer to align operational strategy with clinical quality, care delivery standards, and physician practice performance—ensuring that operational decisions strengthen, rather than compete with, clinical priorities.

The COO will own end-to-end operational performance: practice operations and workflow standardization, technology and infrastructure investments, administrative efficiency, talent and organizational development across sites, and the operational integration of new markets or acquisitions. They will partner with the CFO and CEO on contracting, payor relations and revenue cycle management. The COO will serve as a key architect of how CarePoint scales its physician-owned model while preserving the autonomy and culture that differentiate it in each market it serves.
