HR Assistant / Administrative Assistant

Job Description

Position Summary: The human resource assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations. The human resource assistant will handle a variety of personnel related administrative duties, act as a liaison between the HR Director and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of all queries.

Position Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor"s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.

Experience:

At least one year of HR experience required. Administrative/clerical experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

PC literacy (MS Office)

Hands on experience with an HRIS or HRMS system

Basic knowledge of labor laws

Detail oriented

Excellent organizational skills

Strong communication skills

Strong critical thinking skills

Strong ethical and professional practice

Strong customer service skills

Job Responsibilities:

Manages job postings.

Sources candidates for open positions.

Conducts phone screens on candidates.

Coordinate communication with candidates and schedules interviews.

Performs HRIS data entry – EEOC demographics, address changes, benefits, etc.

Conducts exit interviews for voluntary resignations of scribe and administrative staff.

Maintains confidential personnel files.

Assists with benefits administration.

Schedules and conducts new hire meetings and paperwork.

Coordinates offers of employment to scribes by obtaining background check consent forms.

Order and manage background checks, providing any necessary follow up and coordination with the background check company.

Schedule and order drug screening for new employees.

Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.

Assist with meeting ACA requirements – data entry and calculating of hours worked.

Assist with filing workman"s comp injury reports and providing communication to employees.

Assists the HR director with projects.

Assists executives with projects.

Cover reception desk as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
