Position Summary:
The Payroll Accountant will have primary responsibility for supporting CarePoint Health’s finance and payroll teams.  The Payroll Accountant must be able to use cloud-based payroll software with accuracy and efficiency, is good with numbers, has payroll tax experience and can be trusted with sensitive information.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • At least two years of payroll tax experience.
  • Experience with automated payroll systems, payroll tax filings, research, and some general ledger accounting required.
  • Ability to update changes within the general ledger side of the payroll application and download the files to prepare for upload into the accounting system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases:
    • Excel: Lookups, Pivot Tables, Filtering
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to accurately process payroll with minimal supervision.
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manages adding new states to the payroll system and ensures all payroll tax components are complete.
  • Resolves tax issues for the organization by working with contacts from the payroll software company.
  • Manages making updates and/or changes to the general ledger in the payroll system.
  • Manages the general ledger file:
    • Downloads the file.
    • Reviews the file and corrects any issues.
    • Loads the data into the accounting system.
  • Assists with regular and off-cycle payroll processing for all companies of CarePoint Health.
  • Assists with W2 processing to meet IRS deadlines.
  • Assists with responding to inquiries sent to the payroll email box.
  • Assists with review of benefit invoices for accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned

This individual can work from the CarePoint Health corporate office in Greenwood Village, CO, if/when he or she desires as well.

$60,000 - $65,000 annually
