CarePoint Health Changes Name to CarePoint; Blue Sky Telehealth and Blue Sky Neurology Are Now CarePoint Blue Sky Neurosciences
January 02, 2025
A message from CarePoint CEO Mark Kozlowski, MD:
CarePoint has come a long way since its founding in 1996 as a group of a few dozen emergency medicine physicians working in a handful of Denver hospitals. Since then, we have welcomed many clinicians — more emergency medicine and advanced practice clinicians, yes, but also physicians and APPs who specialize in other areas like hospital medicine and neurosciences. Together, our team has built a multispecialty practice trusted and valued not only in Colorado, but in communities across the country.
CarePoint now has more than 600 physicians and APPs who work in dozens of hospitals across eight states. Our teleneurologists provide care to patients in nearly 300 hospitals across 26 states. That’s a big change from where we started almost 30 years ago. And today, I’d like to announce another change in the exciting evolution of our practice.
But first…
A Little More History
Many other physician groups have joined the CarePoint family since our founding in 1996:
- In 1996: Several pediatric emergency medicine physicians were part of our original group
- In 2013: Inpatient neurology (Blue Sky Neurology) and teleneurology (Blue Sky Telehealth) groups based in Colorado
- In 2016: A hospital medicine group in Kansas
- In 2016: A neurosurgery and spine group in Colorado
- In 2016: An emergency medicine group in Kansas
- In 2018: A hospital medicine group in Colorado
- In 2018: A physical medicine and rehabilitation group in Colorado
- In 2018: A wound care and hyperbaric oxygen group in Colorado
- In 2019: A large emergency medicine group based in Utah called Emergency Physicians Integrated Care (EPIC)
2018 was a key date in our history for another important reason: That’s when CarePoint’s and EPIC’s in-house management services organizations merged to become a singular MSO called CarePoint Health. It was a great way for all physicians involved to preserve ownership of the practice and receive the most MSO value possible.
“Our collective commitment to our mission — to promote, provide, and preserve the quality, compassion, and value of care — is not changing and never will. Our clinicians are dedicated to taking the very best care of patients and our corporate team is committed to supporting them every step of the way.”

So, What's Changing
As you can see, several different groups — and with them, several different group names — have come into the CarePoint fold over the years.
To strengthen our sense of family and unity internally and to more easily communicate who we are and the full breadth of services we offer externally, the name of our collective organization is now simply CarePoint.
Additionally, in the spirit of company integration and unity, Blue Sky Neurology and Blue Sky Telehealth are now CarePoint Blue Sky Neurosciences.
This effort is about bringing all of our people together — whether it’s one of our ER physicians in Idaho, a neurology APP in Georgia, an accountant at our corporate office, or anyone else — and amplifying the amazing work they do every day.
What’s Not Changing
Our collective commitment to our mission — to promote, provide, and preserve the quality, compassion, and value of care — is not changing and never will. Our clinicians are dedicated to taking the very best care of patients and our corporate team is committed to supporting them every step of the way.
This past year alone, CarePoint clinicians oversaw more than 1.3 million patient encounters nationwide. That’s more than 3,500 patient encounters every single day. Along the way, they volunteered in their communities, they were recognized in the media, they won awards for their incredible work, and they saved lives.
That’s powerful.
So, while our name may be changing, our unwavering commitment to making this world a better place through exceptional patient care remains the same.
Thank you for going on this exciting journey with us.
