CarePoint Health’s Kristin Myers, Stephen Hinkin Elected to Leadership Positions at Wesley Medical Center
January 02, 2024
Two of CarePoint Health’s own were recently elected to positions on Wesley Medical Center’s (Wichita, KS) Medical Executive Committee.
Hospital Medicine physicians Kristin Myers, MD, and Stephen Hinkin, MD, were elected to the positions of Medical Staff President and Vice President, respectively, effective January 1, 2024. Both are two-year terms.
The Medical Executive Committee, the clinicians’ governing body, consists of representatives from different specialties across the hospital. CarePoint’s Kathryn Brickman, MD; Chris Cassidy, MD; Aaron Clawson, DO; and William Park, MD, also serve on the committee. The ones who serve on the committee are nominated by their peers.
As Medical Staff President, Dr. Myers, a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, will chair both the Medical Executive Committee and Leadership Council, the latter of which is the primary liaison between Wesley’s physicians and advanced practice providers and the hospital’s leadership team.
“I am looking forward to working with the medical staff on improving patient care and supporting the excellent physicians and APPs at Wesley Medical Center,” Dr. Myers said. “I appreciate the opportunity to develop my leadership skills alongside physician and administration leaders while serving as a Medical Staff Officer.”
In his role as Vice President, Dr. Hinkin, also a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, will chair the Professional Practice Evaluation Committee, which is the hospital’s peer-review committee. He will also support Dr. Myers in her role and operate in an advisory role to Wesley’s CEO and CMO.
“I am looking forward to being an advocate for the physicians and APPs who practice at Wesley Medical Center,” Dr. Hinkin said.
We’re extremely proud of and thankful for all our physicians and advanced practice providers at Wesley and the life-changing work they do each and every day.
