CarePoint Neurosurgeon Matthew Mian, MD, has been named Physician of the Quarter (Q1 2025) at HCA HealthONE Swedish in Englewood, CO — a significant achievement at a hospital with more than 1,400 physicians on staff.
Dr. Mian, who serves as director of functional neurosurgery at Swedish, was recognized during a celebration at the hospital on April 16. That day, Swedish President and CEO Scott Davis, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mary Laird Warner, and numerous others gathered to congratulate Dr. Mian and present him with a crystal plaque.
“Dr. Mian regularly advocates above and beyond what is required of him,” Swedish leadership said of Dr. Mian. “He asks the difficult questions and is persistent when he thinks things need to change or be better. He is always available when needed and enjoyable to work with.”
A Harvard Medical School graduate, Dr. Mian specializes in both general neurosurgery and functional neurosurgery. He treats brain tumors, degenerative spinal disorders, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor, trigeminal neuralgia and other facial pain disorders, epilepsy, and chronic neuropathic pain in the neck, back, and limbs. He employs a wide range of minimally invasive techniques, including robotic brain and spine surgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, laser interstitial thermal therapy, and MRI-guided focused ultrasound.
Dr. Mian joined CarePoint in 2019 after completing his neurosurgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in functional neurosurgery at Emory University.
