HCA Healthcare has chosen CarePoint as the emergency medicine provider for its new freestanding emergency department in Andover, KS, marking CarePoint’s 45th ER partnership.

CarePoint emergency medicine physicians are now providing care at the 14,000-square-foot Wesley Andover ER, which is expected to serve upward of 15,000 patients annually. CarePoint’s Chris Cassidy, MD, and Brent Rockley, MD, serve as the facility’s medical director and associate medical director, respectively.

CarePoint staffs all five of Wesley Healthcare’s ER facilities: Wesley Medical Center, Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER, Wesley West ER & Diagnostic Center, Wesley Derby ER, and now Andover. CarePoint also provides hospitalist care at two Wesley sites.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently for Andover, which includes 12 private treatment rooms, cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, and an on-site laboratory. Just days after Andover opened its doors, CarePoint doctors worked to save the life of a local man experiencing a cardiac event.

CarePoint, which started in 1996 as a group of a few dozen emergency medicine physicians in Colorado, now provides ER care at dozens of facilities across multiple states. The practice’s emergency medicine clinicians completed nearly 1 million patient encounters in 2024.
