Chris Fanale, MD, one of the founding partners of Blue Sky Neurology and Blue Sky Telehealth — now unified as CarePoint Blue Sky Neurosciences (CPN) — has been named president of the newly integrated organization.
In his new role, Dr. Fanale will oversee the strategic direction and clinical operations of all CPN services, from bedside to telemedicine. He will also spearhead growth initiatives while ensuring the delivery of high-quality neurological and telehealth services.
“The future is incredibly bright for CarePoint Blue Sky Neurosciences,” Dr. Fanale said. “I am proud of what we as a team have accomplished over these last two decades and equally excited about what lies ahead.”
Dr. Fanale and a small team of physicians formed Blue Sky Neurology in 2005 in the Denver metro area and launched Blue Sky Telehealth a year later. Since then, what used to be a four-member group is now a team of more than 140 clinicians who deliver care at over 300 hospitals across 26 states. Last year alone, CPN’s inpatient and telemedicine teams combined to complete well over 200,000 patient encounters nationwide.

Under Dr. Fanale’s leadership, awards won by the CPN team have been numerous lately. Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, was recently ranked No. 1 in Missouri for Stroke Care by Healthgrades for the second year in a row (Research’s stroke program is managed by CPN clinicians); several hospitals in which CPN doctors and APPs have a presence received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2024 (only 8.2% of hospitals nationwide were given a 5-star rating that year); and HCA HealthONE Swedish in Englewood, CO, was recently named an “America’s 100 Best Stroke Care” facility by Healthgrades for the third consecutive year (Swedish’s stroke program is managed by CPN clinicians), just to name a few examples.
Both CPN’s inpatient and telemedicine divisions joined CarePoint in 2013.
“Dr. Fanale’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in shaping CarePoint Blue Sky Neurosciences into the nationally recognized leader it is today,” CarePoint CEO Mark Kozlowski, MD, said. “His dedication to innovation, patient care, and clinical excellence will continue to drive our mission forward and reinforce our commitment to setting the standard for inpatient neurology and telemedicine care across the country.”
A member of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Fanale graduated from the MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, completed his residency training in preliminary medicine and neurology at Hahnemann, and obtained a fellowship in stroke and cerebrovascular disease from the University of California San Diego Medical Center.
